Starting Salary: $62,764
Position Overview:

Case Aides work with local Tikinagan staff to help families and children in the community. Case Aides also make a valuable contribution to the well-being of individual children or families and to community as a whole. The work of Case Aides and all our staff is guided by our Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model – everyone working together to raise our children.

Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Providing supervision with structured activities for children in care, until a suitable placement can be found
  • Working one on one with a child who is placed with a foster family, to provide support for that child
  • Transporting and/or supervising children in Tikinagan care to attend medical appointments, family visits, etc.
  • Providing assistance with community events or crisis response such as cooking, serving or transportation
  • Ensuring case notes and log book documentation are completed

Qualifications Desired:

  • Interest in working with children and youth.  Experience with raising a family, working with children, or being a part of community life in small remote communities.
  • Willing to attend training as required.
  • Knowledge of and lived experience with the Indigenous culture.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills and personal time management.
  • Ability to speak Indigenous languages is an asset.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Computer experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain driver’s license.
  • Travel is a requirement.
  • No remote work available.
  • No relocation assistance available.


All successful applicants will require an application for, or a current, Criminal Record Check(CRC). A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) for those positions working with children will also be required. As such, it is recommended that applicants apply for a CRC & VSC as soon as possible.
